Key Stages Information

It is important that as a parent you are aware of the levels your child is working at. This is important for understanding your child’s school report but also for understanding any assessments which may have been made of your child.

In order to help you do this, we have devised a ‘key’ which explains levels and stages right from early years and reception through to post 16 education.

Please note other ways of assessing your child may be used. We advise that you contact the professional who carried out the assessment for an explanation of the scores, levels etc or you could contact the Portsmouth Information Advice and Support Service.

Remember, always approach your child’s class teacher or Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO), if you have any concerns or queries.
